Burcu is a qualified architect in Turkey with a background in construction engineering. She has worked all over Turkey, as well as in London and Innsbruck, Austria, and has experience in designing and coordinating a wide array of projects ranging from university campuses to an aircraft turbine testing centre. Burcu relishes the more technical side of designing, especially in terms of detailing architectural packages and finding elegant solutions to construction issues.
She was drawn to Pattern for its expertise in BIM and is a key member of the Qatar Foundation Education City Stadium and Precinct for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. She was also involved in the delivery of detailed architectural packages for the Athletic Stadium for the Videna National Sports Complex and the Multi-Sports Arena for the Callao Sports Village, both for the 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games in Lima, Peru. She has also worked for the Worcestershire Parkway Station project.
Burcu has also won several competitions, including her design for the regeneration of the Eskisehir Ataturk Stadium. Burcu also provides consultation under her own practice, CUSA Design Studio, which she established.
