Burcu is a qualified architect in Turkey with a background in construction engineering. She has experience in both designing and coordinating a number of residential projects (including university campuses and urban housing developments) and industrial projects (including an aircraft turbine testing center and a chocolate factory). Burcu relishes the more technical side of designing, especially in terms of detailing architectural packages and finding elegant solutions to construction issues. Burcu was an on-site architect for the campus development projects for both Çanakkale 18th March University near Gallipoli and the Anatolian University in Eskisehir, Turkey. Burcu has won a number of competitions such as for her design for the regeneration of the Eskisehir Ataturk Stadium. She has also received honourable mentions for her design of a proposed Kemal Kurdas Cenotaph and for her design of Pamukkale University’s new faculty of Architecture and Design. Burcu was drawn to Pattern for its expertise in BIM. Burcu has worked all over Turkey, as well as in London and Innsbruck, Austria. She also provides consultation under CUSA Design Studio, which she established.
