Rob is an Associate based at Pattern’s Edinburgh studio.

Since joining Pattern in 2016 to establish Pattern Edinburgh, Rob has been involved in leading projects for the Lima 2019 Pan American and Para Pan American Games and the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament. Venues include Olympic-class aquatic centres, and an Olympic-class indoor sports arena. Before he joined Pattern, Rob worked for Oberlanders and RMJM Architects.
Rob is a highly competent and experienced architect with 17 years’ post-graduate experience handling complex high-value projects primarily within varied sectors across the UK and Ireland. Rob is a graduate of Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen and won an Erasmus Scholarship at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Germany in 1995-96. He also has a post-graduate diploma in Conservation. Before joining Pattern, Rob successfully led and was part of teams responsible for the complex refurbishment and new build education projects for two Edinburgh Universities. Currently, Rob is one of the team leaders for ongoing sports pavilion buildings in Doha, Qatar.
